ONTARIO UPDATE: MUD TAKES #3
Posted on | July 12, 2011 | No Comments
We’re Back!
Despite a slow start to the season, cancellations and injuries, MuD has launched itself back onto the scene! Some said we weren’t up to the task, that we were weak, licking our wounds, ready to roll over and give up. What did we do in the face of this scathing critisism? Everything they said we couldn’t! We earned our way onto the podium, proved we could play with anyone, and showed that MuD is ALWAYS a team to watch!
Congrats to the grinders that make us great!

The MuD-i-est of 2010
Posted on | February 21, 2011 | 1 Comment
On any given day one player’s star may shine brightly on the field. A hard working hand on the sideline can pull the team through one last shift, or a layout D can turn the momentum of a game. In honour of continual contributions like these, MuD is recognizing its Male and Female MVP’s of 2010.

Congratulations to Andy “Silver Back” Kubinec and Cassie “Bone Crusher” Smith.

Who is Henry Callahan?
Posted on | February 14, 2011 | No Comments
Obviously, Henry is the namesake of the Rules of Ultimate, US College MVP awards, and one of the greatest plays of all time, but who was Henry Callahan? As Ultimate players, knowing more about the pioneers of the game brings us closer in tune with the sport, where it came from and where we would like to take it. Knowing more about people like Henry can give us the direction and motivation, we as players need, to make what we want of the game we love.
Read about Henry, take his passion to heart, and go make Ultimate greater.

MuD 2011 – Fresh Start… Dirty Name
Posted on | February 4, 2011 | No Comments
It’s been a while since the last update for those of you who have been following Mud Ultimate. Too long to be sure, but with that aside, we are back and running!
In a new development, MuD and the Guelph Ultimate Players Association (GUPA) are working on several joint projects to help grow the sport of Ultimate in the Guelph and Tri-Cities area. What’s on the burner at the moment are several Sunday night clinics and a possible tournament (Think March/April). After the success of our initial clinic (60+ of Ultimate’s finest), MuD holds high hopes and expectations for turnout at our future events. As a tip for those interested in touring this year, and in the words of our peerless leader “Taking it to the next level”, these clinics are a great chance to learn and be scouted by us! If your interested in playing, we’re interested in you. So, keep your ear to the ground and for more information check in regularly here and at www.guelphultimate.ca.
MuD would also like to thank those players who won’t be back for 2011. We appreciated their great effort on the field last season, and the friendship that we all shared. You’ll be missed… Don’t get too comfortable though, the new recruits are hungry for your spots!
For more info on tryouts and other MuD events keep checking here and on our “Tryouts” page. Also, look for regular news starting this month with updates, tips and links to our favourite things.
