Do you love watching ultimate? What about watching it from the comfort of your own home – on TV!
It’s about time awesome layouts, sick D’s, patient offense and skying opponents came to television!
The final game of the Ontario Ultimate Championships 2012 in North Bay was fully recorded and commentated by two sportscasters, and will be replayed in Guelph this coming week. Here are the details:
When: Monday, August 6th, 2012 at 1:00pm
Where: Across Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge
How: Flip to Rogers local channel 20, and enjoy!

MuD is featured in the news for the third time this season!
A Guelph Mercury reporter visited the team at a practice on Monday to talk to the team, and snap some photos, while we were still riding the high of being Ontario Champs!

ONTARIO CHAMPIONS!

This past weekend, MuD took first place at the Ontario Ultimate Championships!
The tournament in North Bay saw 13 Mixed teams from acrosss the province competing for the trophy, and for 5 qualifying spots to Nationals in Victoria this August.
MuD’s success was a direct result of contributions by every single member of the team. Everyone played their hardest, and brought the intensity whenever it was needed!
Saturday pool play saw wins against BFC, Yarr, and Quick & Dirty, to maintain the 3rd place seed going into Sunday’s playoffs. Sunday started with a decisive win early in the day against the Muskies, followed by another W in a great game with Prodigy to send MuD to the finals. After a hard-fought game, a final score of 13-11 for MuD against BFC in the finals crowned MuD as the new Ontario Champions!

All tryouts will be held at the University of Guelph Field Hockey Pitch.
(If you’re using a map, it’s on campus, at the corner of East Ring Rd. and South Ring Rd.)

2012 Season-at-a-glance

Welcome to another season of MuD Ultimate!
MuD is Guelph’s only summer touring team. We are a mixed team that is captained by Chris Sanderson, Bryanne Root and Andy Kubinec. The captains bring years of playing and coaching experience from the university scene, right up to Worlds level!
MuD has a formidable track record, bursting onto the scene and straight to the CUC National Championships in the inaugural 2010 year. Last summer, in a Worlds qualifying year which saw the mixed division flooded with talent from the womens and open divisions, MuD surprised everyone with another 7th place finish at Nationals. This summer will be no different, and we set our sight on a podium finish at CUC 2012 in Victoria, BC.
MuD is a team based primarily on team chemistry. While most teams rely on “Xs and Os” we rely on our ability to play with each other and understand how our teammates play together. This chemistry allows us to succeed when plays falter and breakdown. On defense we pride ourselves on giving everything we’ve got and making other teams work for every inch of field they get.

2012 MuD Tryouts!

The time has come! MuD is gearing up for another amazing and competitive season, and it all starts with spring tryouts! We definitely hope to see you there.
Please fill out the Tryout Player Info on the Tryouts page before the first tryout so we know to expect you.
Tryouts will be held in Guelph on the following dates:
Tuesday, April 24; Thursday, April 26; Sunday, April 29; and Tuesday, May 1st.

ONTARIO UPDATE: MUD TAKES #3

We’re Back!
Despite a slow start to the season, cancellations and injuries, MuD has launched itself back onto the scene! We earned our way onto the podium, proved we could play with anyone, and showed that MuD is ALWAYS a team to watch!
