History

History of MuD.

MuD started during the 2008 summer season when a group of friends decided that they wanted to break out of the league scene and hit the road.  We didn’t have much experience as players and less as a team, but we had a desire to play, learn and win!  We also liked each other, not a bad place to start.

We made our debut on the local tournament scene in Collingwood, with a 3rd place finish, under the Guelph Ultimate league team name “The Dead Rabbits”.  From there we only got better and tighter as a team finishing 2nd at Unknown Legends under the horribly misguided moniker “Weird Alosourus”, and closing the season by taking 1st at Gut Rot.

Or second season was hit and miss, with the team not able to come together for all the tournaments we would have wished and a slight falling off in some of our earlier highs.  Despite this MuD never failed to shine in the local scene, but bigger and better things were calling… 2010 Nats?

Planning for the 2010 season started almost instantly after fall series ended in ’09.   We wanted to play with heart, grow as players and as a team, and test our metal against the big guns.  Small tournaments were fun to start, but MuD wanted to take a real shot at the big time, make Nationals, Win Nationals!  and show the established teams that a younger, faster new kid was shaking things up.  So far things are going according to plan, lets see what the next chapter will hold… Watch out CUC, MuD is coming!
